Valeri Nichushkin’s season is underway in the KHL, and since it is expected that he will return to Dallas next season, I’ll keep tabs on how he’s doing over in Russia.
Nichushkin scored his first goal of the season Sunday, slipping a puck past former Stars goaltender Jhonas Enroth on the rush in CSKA’s 2-1 overtime win over Dinamo Minsk. Nichushkin’s goal tied the game 1-1 with 5:23 remaining in the third period.
Nichushkin has scored one goal in three games and is averaging 16:24 of ice time per game. He played just 11:58 in the season opener but has played 19 minutes in his second game and then 18 minutes in his third game. He’s bounced around on various lines according to the pregame lineup sheets including some time on the top line. He did not play in CSKA’s third game of the season which was on Friday.
Here’s his game log for the week.
