The Hockey News 2017-18 Yearbook is out and along with it comes the annual list of the top 50 players in the NHL.
Stars forward Tyler Seguin came in at No. 20 on the list and Stars captain Jamie Benn was right behind him at No. 21.
Here’s what THN had to say about Seguin, who ranked 13th one year ago:
His team got caved in because of injuries and goaltending woes last year, but Seguin is still one of the top offensive centers in the league. Now, he’s got a new toy to play with (Alexander Radulov) and still a ton of chemistry with Jamie Benn. With more help, Seguin can steer the Stars back into the post-season.
And here was THN’s take on Benn, who ranked 4th last year:
Like his buddy Seguin, Benn was dragged down last year by the disappointing cast around him. Sure, he’ll need to play better himself in order to get Dallas back on track, but we believe that’s a certainty. The power forward is one of the NHL’s biggest threats off the wing and the key piece of Dallas’ attack.
Here are the players who ranked ahead of Seguin and Benn on THN’s list of the top 50 players in the NHL.
