Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed defenseman Brent Regner to a one-year, two-way contract.
Regner, 28, posted 13 points (2-11=13) in 28 games played for Springfield of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2016-17. In eight seasons at the AHL level, he has recorded 178 points (31-147=178) in 481 games played with Syracuse, Springfield, Chicago, Peoria and Portland. He has also appeared in seven NHL games, all with Florida in 2015-16, recording four penalty minutes and seven shots.
The 6-foot, 190-pound native of Westlock, Alberta was originally selected by Columbus in the fifth round (137th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft.
